THE HORSES

Midnight Matrix (Night): Fresian/Apploosa cross, 8 yrs., has previous training but has not been consistently ridden correctly for two years.

Diablo Del Sol (Sunny): Standardbred/Thoroughbred cross, 18 yrs., trained to first level, but excels in show jumping and eventing.

Mr. Persnickety (Snickers): Hackney Pony, 6 yrs., fairly green, but is very sensitive to leg and enjoys jumping.

Day 3

Rating: C1

Horse: Night

Scenario: Schooling the Arena (home)

Length of Ride: 25 min. plus 10 min lunging

Details: My lesson was cancelled, so I just got finished riding. Night was fine. Pretty much the same as yesterday except that we cantered for the first time. He's very forward and powerful in the canter, and its a nice change from Sunny's four beat one. He needs to sit up more in this canter, however this will come with muscle buildup, but its something to work towards. I also need to work on bending more because he tends to not bend.
